Take Advantage of the AIA's Two Virtual Seminars in July
Everyone in your firm can earn LUs for the price of one hook-up

Two AIA professional interest areas (PIAs) are holding online seminars this month on July 17 and 27. Each firm, component, or AIA-member study group can purchase one link and create a group learning situation for the price of a single connection ($169).

"Are Your Heirs Apparent: Building the Next Generation of Firm Leadership," beginning at 1 p.m. EDT, July 17, will help firm principals identify future firm leaders and present a roadmap of skills acquisition for younger architects who aspire to firm leadership. Lessons include strategic business planning, leadership skills, involving the next generation of leaders in business planning, and dealing with employees not contributing to current business goals. The AIA Practice Management PIA is the sponsor.

"Nothing Captured, Nothing Gained: Preserving Lessons Learned Through Knowledge Management," beginning at 1 p.m. EDT, July 27, discusses how to keep firm knowledge in the firm even when people who have developed the knowledge leave. Learn what knowledge management means in a design practice and how to plan, budget, staff, train, and equip a knowledge management system. The AIA Technology in Architectural Practice PIA is the sponsor.

Each 90-minute, live-connection seminar carries 1.5 AIA/Continuing Education System learning units for each AIA member attending one of the virtual-seminar connections.
