Dahlquist and Lutzow Architects, Ltd., was named Distinguished Firm of the Year by AIA Illinois.News

Sidney P. Gilbert, FAIA, died September 14 at the age of 63. He was a founder of Architects for Social Responsibility and had his own practice, Sidney P. Gilbert & Associates, New York City.

One of this year's Hermes Awards, which recognizes excellence in the lodging industry, went to BBG/Architects in the category, "Best Construction" for its Sofitel New York project, which it completed for Accor. The awards are organized by HTR Eurotrends magazine and MKG Consulting.

Dahlquist and Lutzow Architects, Ltd., was named Distinguished Firm of the Year by AIA Illinois.

Shepley Bulfinch Richardson and Abbott was awarded the 2001 Harleston Parker Award for Architectural Excellence for the firm's multiphase restoration and renovation of the Boston Public Library (originally built in 1895). This year's award is the first time it has been presented to a restoration project.

Congratulations to GLT Architects, St. Cloud, Minn., and NCG Architects Inc., Baltimore, on their 25th and 30th anniversaries, respectively.
