Chapter presents 13 design awards

AIA Northern Virginia Chapter announced the winners of its 2001 Design Awards during a gala held at the newly opened Pope John Paul II Cultural Center in Washington, D.C., in June.

In its search for a jury, the chapter's Design Awards Committee turned to other AIA chapters to promote impartial consideration on the design merits of each submission. Five categories were included in the program: commercial architecture, residential architecture, interior architecture, conceptual/unbuilt, and the Kitten McD.
