Avatech Solutions Hosts 16-City AutoCAD 2002 Launch Event
Free program offers five CES learning unit-hours

Avatech Solutions, provider of design automation tools, training, integration services, and technical support, is hosting a series of free technology briefings for architects and engineers in 16 cities to launch the newly released AutoCAD 2002.

Avatech's civil, architectural, and mechanical applications engineers will perform live demonstrations, conduct workshops, and answer questions from users about AutoCAD 2002's many new features, including improved collaboration tools and streamlined standards management.

Morning sessions will be dedicated to an overview of the importance of maximizing digital design data capabilities and a live demonstration of some of AutoCAD's hottest new features. The morning sessions will also include a live demonstration of Autodesk OnSite View 2, a new software program for pocket PCs that allows the user to view and redline CAD drawings any time, anywhere from any location.

A luncheon session will feature a "Customizing AutoCAD Workshop," where users learn tips and tricks to customize AutoCAD's features to fit their specific work environment. Afternoon sessions will be broken out according to discipline (civil, architectural, or mechanical) and will feature AutoCAD 2002's desktop solutions applications. These include Architectural Desktop, AutoCAD Mechanical 6, and Land Desktop, which all work on top of AutoCAD 2002 to give users complete flexibility and more power in their designs. (Autodesk Inventor, an assembly-centric solid modeling and drawing production system for mechanical design will also be featured.)
