Clear May 17–19 on your calendar and count on coming to Denver for the 2001 AIA National Convention and Expo.
For architects, Denver2001 is the can't-miss event of the year. The program features theme speakers Susan Stamberg, Daniel Libeskind, and Santiago Calatrava as well as innovative seminars and cutting-edge product exhibits. So, with the opportunity to fulfill all your continuing education requirements, plus win a $35,000 car at the AIA Expo 2001 Golf Challenge, how can you afford to pass-up Convention 2001?
As you are prepare your convention schedule and complete your registration, here are some activities to keep in mind:

· Opening Night Party. Kick off Denver2001 in the Mile High City at the free Opening Night Party, Thursday, May 17, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Feast on regional specialties (how about buffalo!), listen to live music, and join colleagues, AIA Colorado members, and exhibitors in an Old-West-style party.

· Continuing education. An extensive array of combinations of preconvention workshops, seminars, tours, general sessions, and educational programs on the Expo floor allows you to earn all of the continuing education leaning units needed to maintain your state licensure and AIA membership in just four days.

· Theme Presentations. Attend keynote presentations by internationally recognized architects Daniel Libeskind and Santiago Calatrava and NPR journalist Susan Stamberg. These theme speakers bring a broad base of experience and a depth of insight to this year's convention. · Host Chapter Party. Jump in the deep end at Colorado's Ocean Journey aquarium, Saturday, May 19, from 7 p.m. to midnight. Marvel at the sight of exotic fish and Sumatran tigers and enjoy an abundance of food, drink, and good company.

· Tours. Rent a bicycle and pedal your way around Denver or take one of the many professional and guest tours-AIA Colorado has put together a comprehensive and diverse schedule of over 40 tours within the city and across the region.

· The AIA Member Services Center at Expo2001 is information central in Denver for questions and assistance regarding the Institute. From component affairs to Honors and Awards, you'll find your AIA answers right here. (Booth 163)
