2015 AIA National Convention Election Results
Elections for the Institute’s 2016 First Vice President/2017 President-elect, 2016–2017 Treasurer, and three At–large Directors were held at AIA Convention 2015 in Atlanta.
2016 First Vice President/2017 President-elect
Thomas V. Vonier, FAIA, Elected 2016 AIA First Vice President/2017 President-Elect
Currently serving as 2014–2015 AIA Vice President, he is also the founder and past president of AIA Continental Europe from 1994 to 1995. He served on the AIA Board of Directors representing the AIA International Region from 2010 to 2012.
2016–2017 Treasurer
Stuart L. Coppedge, AIA, Elected 2016–2017 Treasurer
A prominent participant in AIA National leadership activities for the last several years, Coppedge was facilitator of the Culture Collective from 2014 to 2015, and he both served on the Finance and Audit Committee and represented the Western Mountain Region on the Board of Directors from 2012 to 2014. Coppedge served as President of AIA Colorado in 2009 and as President of AIA Colorado South in 2006.
At-large Directors
Jennifer Workman, AIA, Elected At-large Director
Formerly the Chair of the AIA Council of Emerging Professionals in 2013, she was the Chair and Communications Advisor for the Young Architects Forum from 2009 to 2012. She served as Vice President of Member Services with the Texas Society of Architects in 2014 and as Chapter Director from 2009 to 2010; she has also been Co-Chair of the AIA Dallas Tour of Homes since 2013.
L. Jane Frederick, FAIA, Elected At-large Director
Currently Regional Director for the South Atlantic since 2013 and a member of the Practice & Prosperity Committee since 2014, she also sat on the Board Knowledge Committee from 2012 to 2013 and the Emerging Professional Committee from 2013 to 2014. She has been President, Secretary/Treasurer and Director of AIA South Carolina; her presidential stint took place in 2010.
Anthony P. Schirripa, FAIA, Elected At-large Director
The Regional Director of New York from 2012 to 2014, he currently serves on the Secretary's Advisory Committee and the Governance Task Force. In addition to his term as President of the AIA New York Chapter in 2010, Schirripa served as First Vice President of the AIA New York Chapter in 2009, as Vice President for Public Outreach in 2008, as Treasurer from 2005 to 2008 and served on the Chapter's Finance Committee from 2000 to 2004.
